Through our own experiences, I am aware that it can be a stressful and upsetting time for some pets arriving and/or following a visit to the grooming parlour. However my aim is to change this and make it a truly happy experience for them by providing a warm relaxing familiar friendly environment, with someone that knows what their needs are and truly care.
A fully insured, safe and hygienic environment. Your beloved pet will be spoiled and groomed to a very high standard using only the best top quality products and accessories, ensuring that your pets will look and feel their very best at all times.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GROOM MY DOG?
It normally takes 1.5 - 2 hours for a smaller dog. For a mid sized dog or a specialty cut it can take a little longer. If your dog has not been cut in a long time or has a matted coat it will take longer.
What does it cost to get my dog cut?
The cost for a basic cut on a small dog is $60.00. As the dogs get bigger or if the cuts are more specialized, there will be an extra cost because of the extra time involved. We will discuss all of this ahead of time and there will never be any surprise costs!
Can i stay with my dog?
As much as I would love the opportunity to get to know you better, unfortunately it is not possible for you to stay with us. It's important that your dog and I create a bond that simply cannot be created with you in the vicinity. Your dog will naturally put all focus and attention on you and that makes the process inefficient, unsafe (sharp tools!) and time consuming.
When do I come back for my dog?
It's important that you get your dog only after I contact you. If you come early , your dog will be aware that you are there and get excited (even sitting outside in your car is distracting), and it is both difficult and dangerous to use scissors around an excited dog! If you arrive before your dog is finished, the result will either be an unfinished cut, or the extra time and cost (if time allows) of calming your dog down and then finishing.
what does the groom include?
A grooming includes the cut, luxurious bath with shampoos matched to skin type, nail trim, ears plucked ( if applicable) and cleaned and dried.
will i be charged extra if my dog's coat is matted?
Fees are applied for time, matted ears and tails consume extra time so charges will increase slightly. Matted coats depending on severity also consume extra time to clip off safely. I will not brush out a heavily matted dog. Its very uncomfortable and painful for the dog. Tangled and matted are 2 very different things yet both can refelct an slight increase in cost. We will discuss it upon arrival so no surprises.
Can I get an appointment today or tomorrow?
It is highly recommended that bookings are made 2-3 weeks in advance. It is rare that I will have any openings for a last minute cut.
can i just have my dog's nails cut?
Yes! I do nail trims by appointment ! Feel free to call the landline and book!
will my dog be put in a cage?
Your fur friend will never be crated! My salon has very comfy and CLEAN beds to rest in while they wait!
do you groom cats or other animals?
My talents belong only to the canines!
my dog hates other dogs, what can i do?
Please disclose your dogs behaviour. There are things that I can do to help if I fully know. Disclosure is your responsibility and I do ask a lot of questions on first arrival and keep notes on their file card.
I easily can make sure your pet is here alone and everyone is happy and safe!
can i bring a shampoo that has been recommended by a vet?
Yes! By all means! If your vet has prescribed a shampoo and you would like me to use it, please bring it! I will honor the instructions as per the vet!
What if my dog has fleas?
If your dog comes with fleas or lice, I will call you as soon as I notice! Evidence is collected, pictures and pests taped to a paper for identification. You will have 2 options.
1)You can come immediately and remove your dog as is ( incomplete) and pay my time and my cleaning fee.
2) I complete the groom, flea/lice rid shampoo treatment, and clean fee. Lice especially is very bad and common in the Okanagan. Dog Parks, dog day cares, walk paths, friends, vet clinics, groom salons, and honestly any place your dog has contact with any other dog is the reason to use preventative measure.
It is owner responsibility to treat your dog monthly. Your dog wont get fleas or lice from anywhere if you are proactive!
